ABOUT
MANDALA ACADEMY
Creating space for girls & women to evolve.
The Mandala Academy is a community-centered movement home where dance education, creativity, confidence, and connection belong together. We create inclusive, high-quality experiences that welcome girls and women across ages, backgrounds, bodies, and experience levels.
Creativity is for everyone.
Every body deserves respectful, thoughtful movement.
Mistakes are part of growth.
Courage grows when people feel safe enough to be seen.
Technique and self-expression can strengthen each other.
Community matters as much as achievement.
Joy is a meaningful part of learning.
Progress does not have to look the same for everyone.
WHY MANDALA?
-
To create spaces where girls and women feel free, capable, confident, connected, and fully entitled to participate, express themselves, and evolve—through movement and in the world.
-
The Mandala Academy provides inclusive, creatively rich, high-quality dance and movement experiences that build technical skill, confidence, courage, self-expression, and meaningful connection.
-
We envision a community where girls and women of every age, background, body, and experience level have access to joyful, meaningful movement. As Mandala grows, it will become a sustainable creative home known for developing strong dancers and courageous people.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
MEET JAMI RANKIN
Jami Rankin is a performing arts educator, dance instructor, choreographer, and founder of The Mandala Academy. Her work is rooted in the belief that movement can help girls and women become more confident, connected, expressive, and at home in themselves.
As a teacher, Jami combines technical instruction with imaginative learning, anatomy-aware movement, confidence development, and genuine care for the whole person. She creates spaces where beginners feel welcomed, experienced dancers feel challenged, and every participant is encouraged to grow without sacrificing authenticity.
Her experience includes teaching performing arts from preschool through middle school, coaching and choreographing for young dancers, leading themed children’s workshops, teaching movement experiences for women, and developing community-centered performance opportunities.
A mandala represents wholeness, connection, growth, and the way many individual pieces can come together to create something meaningful. That idea reflects our approach: movement is not separate from confidence, creativity, identity, or community. Each experience becomes part of a larger process of evolving.
WHO WE SERVE
The Mandala Academy primarily creates programs for girls and women. Certain classes, workshops, community events, and collaborative opportunities may be open to boys, men, or all participants when specifically noted.
OUR PROMISE
You do not have to arrive confident, flexible, experienced, coordinated, or certain. You are welcome to begin exactly where you are.
